It was raining when we awoke this morning, but the kids were very frisky - greatly in need of a good run around. As we ate breakfast it cleared and we set off with a picnic for a walk around Rockford Common. I love this part of the forest as much as our side, but it takes a while to get over here due to all the windy roads and tourist traffic at Lyndhurst. On the upside we have a nice drive through some lovely bits of the forest.
We walked from Red Shoot Wood onto Rockford Common and then across to Mockbeggar and Ibsley Common. We watched the Lapwing and Curlew guarding their nests, and marvelled at the Skylark singing their hearts out.
As I write this Lewis is singing "Down Under" by the Men at Work, a current favourite. 'Do you speak my languange? He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite Sandwich.'

Colin Hay! Great stuff, very impressed, Lewis should check out some of his other stuff, think he might like it. Will have to dig out a few CDs for him
