Happy Birthday Mummy!

Well today's just another ordinary day for most people, but for Caroline she says she feels like Queen for the day!!! Today she's 38, and who'd have thought it.... Who said children give you grey hair?

Life in technicolour!

The colours of the heather and the gorse were extremely beautiful - what a place! This is near St Agnes' Head

Miranda enjoying her daily constitutional.....

This climbing wall was a favourite, as the boys have been asking to do some climbing at Calshot Activity Centre. They climb everything of course anyway, but a climbing wall is just special isn't it.

Miranda nearly standing up on her own.... well she wobbles quite a bit, but she can hold herself up for a good five minutes. And doesn't she look pleased with herself!

Remember the olden days?

This one for the oldies! And quite popular with the youngies too! Lewis and Greg particularly enjoyed the traction engines, steam rollers and old time entertainments. This one was a favourite as it was called the Pirate...

more walking, this time near St Agnes Head....
This is near St Agnes where we camped, and shows us walking the coastal path near Wheal Friendly
Caroline pretending to enjoy herself whilst cooking dinner on a camp stove for the first time....

Stop nagging....

It's a bit much when you get two phone calls to remind you that you've not yet loaded a new picture to the blog yet. So here it is...!

For those watching the dates you will notice we've been away on holiday to sunny Cornwall for a few weeks. We had out first camping experience as a family of five, and we not only survived but could have easily stayed longer.

Over the next few days you probably see a few more holiday pics, and then we'll be back to normal!

How many toes?

Sunday morning and it's dark and gloomy outside, the boys have got the lurgy and our camping trip is fading before my eyes - but wait there's a ray of sunshine - it's Miranda!

Today we had a smashing walk nerar Denny Wood - the heather was out in full bloom and the swallows were diving and swooping like mad things. Here's Lewis watching the aerodynamic display...

The future's so bright....

It was a little bright in our kitchen yesterday, so someone had the idea of giving Miranda sunglasses to wear - matching her bibber quite nicely!

So here's the new sloane ranger!

Veg Talk...

We had a visit today from the Hall Clan - Ron, Ann and Ron's sister Doreen - who we've not seen in a while. Here the gardeners are discussing the finer points of lettuce cultivation.

I'd say it was more like greenfly infestation myself!

Eat up!

Variation on a theme, ....a theme that I'm sure you won't tire of too easily!

When you see that smile, you don't hear the bone jangling crying that we are currently (not) enjoying, I'll have to do a contrast shot methinks!

Miranda's foot

Another one from my "body part" series. As she moves her feet constantly, it's a bit tricky but it makes for good sport, but I like this one with it's abstract colourfield behind.

Barbequed Beans

It's been hot today, and Mummy decided to have a barbeque tonight. Lewis was the comis chef, and Greg and Daddy did their best to keep out of the way (smoke)

We had Dolmas (Not barbequed but from Bob next door's greenhouse), Koftas, Houmus, Cous Cous, and haloumi Cheese toasted to perfection. Afterwards we had barbied bananas and they were yuuum!

The menuboard I later noticed was captioned "Smokey Joe's Cafe"

Johanna!

We had a visit from Johanna in the week, so we went for a picnic in the forest. Greg as always plays the Joker and Johanna falls for the trick. I'm sure we've told her he can ride 15 miles off road....!

Time for a change of scenery!

Well tonight you're going to get a bit of a change - me! And unusually, (as Lewis might say) he's smiling.

This was taken by my friend Peter, on Monday night, .... and yes the reason I am smilimg is I am "down the pub"

Tonight we've been to the beach, and we watched the fireworks over at Cowes. There were bonfires on the beach, skies were ablaze, and Calshot was absolutely packed.

Champion Rider

The boy who sets the pace, ups the ante, and generally causes a few problems at home, when Greg tries to live up to his challenges..... Tonight after a big cycling dust up with Greg, Lewis took it upon himself to teach him a few things from the Highway Code!

Well at least some good came of it...

Last Action Hero

You may wonder why Greg is so accident prone, he certainly has his share of scrapes. However when you see him in action you realise his co-ordination is first class, and his determination is everything. Here he is copying Lewis' attemps to show off, and succeeding!
