Greg's Pics

Occasionally when we go for a walk Greg likes to take photos, and occasionally he asks before we leave home, which means I have a chance of getting him a camera to use! My favourite aspect as always, is seeing my life from another perspective. Take Miranda for example, she'll engage in a cheeky co-operative smile with Greg, whereas for me she will do the opposite. Another hallmark is the occasional reference to my style and subject matter when taking photos, just like the burry tree trunks he also shot.

So here we are, getting lost near Rans Wood.

Tuesday Night Series

A nice sunny end to the day at Calshot nearly ended prematurely when we discovered the keys for the rib were in Berkshire my mistake! Problem overcome and although first over the line, they finished second on handicap but there still a cheeky smile from Gregory...

Faster next time boys!

Racing at Calshot

Had a nice walk from Ferny Crofts today across to Matley Wood and Denny Wood, and back via Shatterford with Greg and Miranda. Lewis was at home revising his Maths. He's got a busy week next week, but half term will be spent nose to the grindstone. Still he put in a few hours sailing at Calshot this afternoon picking up a first and a second which gave him a smile....

At the Gallery

Received this image by iPhone today, although I know it was taken on an RZ67, and hence with film. It's been processed nice and quickly and looking for clues I think it was a print rephotographed by the iPhone? I'm sure I will find out in due course, but in the meantime quite enjoy the pinhole quality of the picture. Myself, brother Christian and parents at my Dad's exhibition in Carmarthen currently running at the King Street Gallery.

Campaign

The challenge is to get enough hours on the water, whilst still putting on a good show in the GCSE's.... #aquaholic29er

On Show :: Julian Brown Watercolours at The King Street Gallery

My Dad currently has an exhibition of his paintings at the King Street Gallery in Carmarthen, this is from the weekend when we visited. The kids had a lovely time playing with Otto and Lola, and we had a surprise visit from Jonathan and Jen Sykes and family. Also I met up with an old school chum who I'd not seen for donkey years, not so long next time Anthony ' Trance' Jones... ! The lady in the photo had come back to look at several paintings which she liked, and I was able to help her choose a view of the Brecon Beacons.

Because it's there

Why on earth people in the Forestry Commission go to the trouble of putting signs that say No Climbing on the Log Piles, I shall never know. The trees often wobble, the gaps that you can fall down are easy to see, but logic suggests that any Don't Do sign in a place that has no CCTV cameras, is bound to be ignored.

By Miranda anyhow...

On our way back...

Sunday afternoon walk in Rans Wood with the kids, is always a relaxing way of rounding off the old week, ready for the one ahead. Greg took a few photos too, so maybe we'll have a few Greg pics this week!

Marina not Morris

Visited the Marina on our travels as it's a great place to watch the cruise liners from, and place hide and seek... sometimes both at the same time.!

Revision

Lewis looking quite convincing with a French dictionary, the GCSEs approaching over the hill any day now, and French will be first!!

Quote of the Day

"With all the votes in, we calculate that the Lib Dems have lost 334 deposits - or £167,000.
In fact, with all that money, they could have put 18 students through university for a year (on the current fees), or 55 under the one before they came to power."

Globetrotters

Nice to get an old fashioned postcard from Gran and Grandan, as they do undertake a walking holiday in Gozo, Sardinia and another island somewhere near there! Do't expect me to remember where, I can't keep up with them. Not showing much sign of slowing down obviously...

Insect Day

In the morning we did some writing together, researching stuff about snails and snakes so that we could write a few pieces for a magazine she's planning. She normally starts with the end (magazine) and works back so this time I made her plan things first!

Havingh done some good work we ate our tasty homemade soup, and headed out for a bike ride, and guess what we found.... lots of taddies! This was Miranda at the wiggling her toes in the mud to torment the taddies part of the day.

Who'da thought it in early May; but today at Hayling Island whilst Lewis was sailing in a pursuit race, Popsie enthusiastically jumped into her swimmers and built a sand castle. There were a few raised eyebrows, but she's a hardy soul when she wants. It wasn't long before reality dawned and she thought maybe she'd get changed!!

So we progressed with plan A which was a bike ride around the Island. Rather like the picture below as well, of a hot blonde on the bonnet of my car...!

Grid lock getting off Hayling at close of play, but we had the inside knowledge, and managed a quick getaway...
