Very pleasant sail down to Keyhaven with very few other sailing boats for company. Time to enjoy a beer oin the boat before heading to the pub in Shalfleet, as the tide was very low indeed... we had to paddle up the creek as the outboard was scraping the bottom.
Lots of birds on the water, nesting - so it was extraordinarily noisy considering the lack of people.

Forest frolic
Lovely winter hues form the backdrop to this picture taken at Rans Wood on the weekend, the kids almost looking co-operative. Must have taken them by surprise!
I am listening to Wayne Escoffery jamming with Jimmy Greene, Stephen Riley and Don Braden all on tenor saxes with a rhythm section too! Steeplechase Volume 30

Natural Vignette
When we go for a walk at Rans Wood the kids often play at the teepees whilst I take photos in the area. Today we discovered that a huge redwood had fallen on top of their den, flattening it! So they had to resort to climbing horizontal trees instead...

Pared back
I took a series of photos of Miranda with my camera manually set at 10,159ASA whoich any self respecting photographer will tell you is like using normal film push processed six stops. (Six stops under exposed in simple terms) As a result the photos have a lovely grainy quality which I rather like, will probably do more of this.
The landscape photos that I had been taking the night before were the reason I had my camera thus set...

Cross Country at Anstey Park
I've been with Greg today to watch him run at the County Cross Country Championship at Anstey Park near Alton. He's been representing the New Forest Schools Team, and put in a very good performance. This follows his selection at Gang Warily at the New Forest level, and he was really excited about being picked. Greg says he's going to take running a lot more seriously, and has been out a few times this week already....
Keep it up Greg!

Action Man
Photo from a few weeks ago that I clearly forgot to use! Lewis playing rugby for Fawley vs Tottonians Under 16's. I don't take many action photos, mainly as I prefer to watch the action, although he's always chuffed when I get a decent image of him...

Purple mws
A few days walking in Snowdonia taking photos and chilling out... there will be a few more of the landscape photos on my flickr stream.... in due course! If anyone is planning on visiting North Wales I can recommend the Royal Goat Hotel in Beddgelert. I can highly recommend it for quality of food and customer service, not to mention vfm. You can walk straight from the front door, eat and drink without leaving the hotel all in a top location.
